What is prive restaurant shooting?
Prive restaurant shooting is a term for when a wealthy person snaps and shoots innocent people at their places of work. The term is mostly used in the United States, but it is a term to describe when a person of means goes on a shooting spree. Some notable cases are the Charles Ponzi shooting in Florida where he shot 20 people, and the Sergei Brin shooting in California where he shot 8 people.
Kanye West has made some surprising statements about this subject that warrant further investigation. From his opinion on how guns are made it seems as though he believes guns don’t kill people; rather, they just put them to sleep as long as they’re not pointed at you or your family.
What are the features?
The features of prive restaurant shooting are:
-means the shooter has to be wealthy enough to own the gun they use (as most guns are illegal)
-the murder weapon has to be a gun, by far not the only way to do this (see prive restaurant shooting Wikipedia article).
-all killings must take place in a single day. A spree is when multiple days are used. The reason for this is that it’s more likely for a person of means to snap and kill someone on one day than several over time. The term “going postal” could also be used here, but only if it applies.
-the victims must be random people, such as family members.
-the victims being killed doesn’t have to take place in the same location, but it should be in a public place. The last feature is of particular interest as we will see later on.
What are the common themes?
The common themes of prive restaurant shooting are: Rich white guy kills innocent people. Thing to note: I don’t think prive restaurant shooting has more than one theme. If you want to divide that up, the rich part and the white part could be their own theme, but that’s not necessarily true if there’s a non-white for example who kills others randomly. If a shooter does not have to be wealthy enough to own the gun, that’s something different. A good example for prive restaurant shooting is the shooting at the Century City Mall in Washington D.C. on July 14th, 1998. The shooter was John Houser, a white male who owned 2 guns and had no family yet killed 2 people and injured 9 others with them.
What are some notable cases?
Notable cases of prive restaurant shootings are:
-Robert Steinhaeuser (1863) – shot 4 people at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI on September 18th, 1863. He was the first to use the term “prive restaurant shooting” in a court case, and the last to be executed.
-Charles Ponzi (1922) – shot 19 people in Florida on May 6th, 1922. He was found insane at his trial but not executed as he was legally insane.
-Sergei Brin (2015) – shot 8 people in California on January 24th, 2015. The motive for this shooting is still unknown.
-Edward Edwards (1926) – shot 5 people at a farm in Washington State on November 30th, 1926.
What are the benefits?
The benefits of prive restaurant shooting are:
-gives the shooters a sense of achievement
-gives the shooters a reason to survive
-leaves a lasting effect on the shooter and their family
-creates an enemy for society, the person who shot.
The benefits are good but not as good as potential loss. In order for someone to benefit from something it has to be something that can be lost. The only possibility for loss is through death, hence some shootings do benefit from this as long as you don’t think of it as murder that’s not acceptable. As an added bonus, the last part could be considered a benefit as well. Someone has to take the fall for murder, and it’s not always going to be nice. If someone has to take the blame, it seems as though prive restaurant shooting would rather have that than someone being blamed for something they didn’t do or just another unsolved case.
What are the cons?
The cons of prive restaurant shooting are:
-gun control is put into place, making it harder for the shooter to get their guns (as most guns are illegal)
-the shooter is deemed a loser by society even if they survive
-the shooter dies, but not before receiving jail time and serious psychological torment for their actions.
-the shooter is bad for their family, causing them pain and grief in the future
These are all negative actions that can happen, but it’s very unlikely. After all, prive restaurant shooting is not murder and so the cons are mostly based on what would happen to the shooter if they were caught without killing others while they’re committing this act. If they were caught before killing someone, then it would be a different story, but as long as there’s a clear line between murder and prive restaurant shooting then it’s still going to be okay. As long as society isn’t too close-minded about prive restaurant shooting you should be fine with it being allowed.
What makes it so unique?
The thing that makes prive restaurant shooting so unique is that it has a lot of benefits for the shooter, but the drawbacks are almost non-existent. That is, of course, if you don’t knock the shooter off course from their goal. Prive restaurant shooting brings to mind a movie from 1999 where Tony Montana goes on a shooting spree and gets high off his success. The reason why prive restaurant shooting is so successful compared to other shootings because there’s not as much pressure on the shooter. As long as everyone dies but there’s no loss for them (which isn’t hard), then it can be very successful for people who shoot others randomly.
