Youtube, Netflix, social media. These are some of the more well-known and oft-understood for world waste fellow aspects of mass media. As you already know, they have profoundly changed how we communicate with one another and what information is available for us to consume. But there’s much more to it than just the internet – one thing that many people don’t recognize is that mass media technologies have been hugely beneficial to society in a myriad of ways. Let me walk you through a few of these off the top of my head!
Mass media technologies provide access to information for those who would otherwise not be able to find it by simply living in inaccessible or underserved areas.
1. Mass media technologies help the underprivileged by providing access to information that otherwise would have been unavailable
Mass media technologies allow people living in underserved areas to get access to information on important things, such as government policies, family news, and general trends within the community. People living in these regions are able to keep up with what is going on around them and care about what is happening – they can simply read the knowledge they need directly from a source they trust and are interested in. Mass media allows everyone to be informed when it comes to important events, policies and issues!
2. Mass media technologies keep the underprivileged up to date on important news
People living in rural areas often miss out on many important news developments, whether they be local, national or international – however, through the use of mass media technologies, they can keep up with what’s going on! Television, radio and other forms of mass media allow people to stay connected even when their location is an inconvenience. Through access to the internet, these underprivileged individuals can easily find information about what’s going on around them and know when something big is happening. For example, if there is a sudden increase in water pressure that affects a certain area of the town or city – these people will know about it!
3. Mass media technologies help the underprivileged by providing entertainment
Thanks to mass media technologies, people living in underserved regions are able to gain access to entertainment content that is not available elsewhere. With television and radio available, it allows people in remote areas to gain access to entertainment like sports, dramas and sitcoms. Through communication such as this, it helps keep children entertained while also allowing their parents some time apart from them so they can have time for themselves.
4. Mass media technologies help the underprivileged by providing access to helpful information
Mass media has always been used to broadcast helpful information and advice, such as the use of seat belts or other safety procedures. The internet has helped greatly with this, allowing individuals to get access to safety information that would otherwise be incredibly difficult for them to obtain. These can include things like first aid techniques or how to respond in a natural disaster. Many of these resources are available on government websites and other trustworthy locations, letting people know exactly what they should do in situations of emergency – giving them more peace of mind!
5. Mass media technologies promote the use of public transportation
Since mass media technologies have allowed people to stay up to date on current events, they are able to see the advantages of using public transportation! If people are able to stay informed and connect with other those who can explain how it can benefit them, many will be more likely to explore alternative forms of transportation. Since most people find that they prefer cars over trains or bicycles (for example) because of their speed and convenience – mass media technologies play a big role in making this possible.
6. Mass media technologies promote education by reminding everyone about deadlines and important information
Mass media technologies allow us to recall important dates and deadlines – such as those relating to exams or elections. This helps remind people what is going on in the world around them and motivate them to go about their daily routines. Mass media technologies are also used to remind our youth about when they need to pay attention in class, ensuring that no one falls behind!
7. Mass media technologies help the underprivileged by increasing social cohesion
Since mass media technologies allow people to stay connected with other individuals from all walks of life, it helps promote social cohesion and unity within a society. For example, as people can stay up to date on what’s happening in the community, they are more likely to become more aware of the needs of their neighbors and local surroundings. This creates a community feeling amongst all members of society, resulting in a greater sense of unity.
8. Mass media technologies allow underprivileged regions to have greater access to technology
Mass media technologies are helpful for both developed and underprivileged regions. Mass media technologies are used as a way to increase access to technology and encourage individuals to purchase technology that they otherwise wouldn’t want or be able to afford. For example, mass media technologies are often used as advertisements for computers, laptops and other such technology – giving people the chance to see and experience what it’s like before making a purchase.
