When it comes to product reviews, you need to work extra hard to stand out for blue hat meaning. It’s not enough to just explain how a product works and what it looks like. You need to show your personality, give personal recommendations and share the excitement you have for a particular item. Here are our top tips to improve your reviews and get people talking about them!
1) Never be afraid to be honest.
Some people like to review products they don’t like or products that don’t work and get very personal about it. The most successful reviews of all time are those with brutally honest descriptions of what went wrong or didn’t work for them personally. Reviews with these sorts of honesty will always have a deeper connection with the reader, and the most loyal readers will only trust your feedback when you are being sincere and honest.
2) Be genuinely excited.
When you browse for products to review, make sure that you are genuinely excited about the ones you are choosing. You want to show your readers that the product appeals to your preferences so they will share in your enthusiasm and confidence. Most people don’t want to read about something that doesn’t excite them or pique their interest in any way. So be sure to write reviews that talk about how you feel when you are using the product… and hopefully even share a minute-by-minute account of how it works for you!
3) Share your opinions.
When writing reviews, never just focus on what it does do well but what it actually DOESN’T do well. And don’t be afraid to share any negative opinions you have of the product. With that said, we recommend that you don’t simply make a negative review out of those negatives. See if you can look at them as a positive so that it doesn’t sound like a rant but more of your personal opinion on an item.
4) Give recommendations (if they’re useful).
It’s always recommended to give personal recommendations using your experience with the product and why it works for you. Plus, if you found something that works for YOU and YOU ONLY, then what is the point in recommending a product to others? Be sure to specify how and why it worked for you so other people can get similar results from your suggestions.
5) Share your excitement!
Finally, most importantly, be sure to let your readers know how excited you are about the product. Let us guess that you got samples of a brand new product and tested them out over a period of time. We all want people to read our reviews and find out more about the products we’re talking about. So be sure to tell people what you loved or hated about the product and why. This will not only tell others why you genuinely like a product but how excited you are to let them know!
6) Don’t be upset if it’s not perfect.
We’ve all had bad experiences with certain things, but that doesn’t mean we should discount a review because it wasn’t perfect for us personally. If something is broken or doesn’t work for us, that doesn’t mean that it’s a bad product in general. So be sure to write about it and explain how you feel about it so your readers can make their own decision.
7) Speak from experience!
Another tip that will leave a lasting impression on your individual readers is to actually speak from first-hand experience with the product. Most people reading your review want to hear what you have to say and can relate, so make sure it’s personal so they know that you’re speaking from a genuine place of experience.
8) Take advantage of video reviews (if possible).
We recommend that you encourage your readers to watch a video review if they’re able to. These are much more popular than written reviews because people love watching them and getting to see the product being used in action. With that said, consider having one for each item you write about so that it’s even more personal for your readers.
9) Reviews don’t have to be long.
It may seem like the trend these days is for reviewers (and writers in general) to focus on length over actual content, but this isn’t the case. Always write a review that is exactly as long as it needs to be. You don’t have to go into every little detail and explain everything you feel in that article, so don’t waste people’s time.
10) And finally, don’t forget to give credit!
You’ve written your review and it’s done, but have you given credit where credit is due? It doesn’t matter how long it is and what information you include, but always make sure at the end of your article to thank the person who made the product for you and mention something they did well in regards to the item.
They end up reading the article and will thank you for your thoughtful feedback! It’s all about kindness!
