I’ve spent the last decade studying business statistics, and I’ve found that these are the most valuable and fascinating subjects in the world. I’ve even developed a whole course on the subject that I’ve taught at my community college.
Ive found that a basic knowledge of these statistics is very helpful in the decision making processes of other business people. We are constantly faced with decisions that require us to make judgments, and these statistics can help us in making these decisions. Whether it is hiring a businessperson, selling a business, or even just making a decision about how to go about our day.
The importance of this information is well-documented. But if you don’t have a good grasp on these statistics, you can easily be blindsided by a decision or a decision that you feel is wrong. And once you’ve been blindsided, you’re in a much stronger position to change your mind.
Here we go again. I feel that we should be more open about our personal statistics. But there are many things that we never talk about, and that can easily mislead others. So I want to make this clear: I am not a statistician. And neither are the thousands of employees we work with every day. We also don’t talk about the things that we do that we are paid to do. These statistics will hopefully help us make our decisions and help us put things in perspective.
So how do we begin to do that? The first thing is to identify what our personal statistics are. I know that’s pretty vague, but it’s a starting point. Then what do we do about them? My personal rule for this is to keep our personal statistics to ourselves and not even tell my co-workers. I think it’s important to be true to yourself and not let anyone else, especially the management department, know your personal statistics.
The second thing that we need to do is take a look at how you are making your decisions for the office. What do you like to do for your work, what do you like to do with your friends, what do you like to do on vacation and what do you like to do when you have a day off, etc. If you see yourself doing something you don’t like, I would recommend you don’t do it.
For instance, I hate sitting around in meetings for hours on end. I do a lot of reading, but I don’t like reading for hours and then making a decision. I also hate going to the gym. I don’t know why I do it, I just do it. I do it on purpose, because I want to look good.
If you don’t like doing something, then it’s a good sign you’re doing something you don’t want to do. A sign of a good person.
The same goes for our company, we like doing what we do, but we also like doing what we dont do. We love going to the gym and doing things that we dont like doing. We dont like sitting around on corporate time, we like working. We love making products and selling them to our customers.
That’s our attitude. In this course we learn how to run our company from a business perspective. We review the best practices that we use to build our business. We also learn how to handle the ups and downs of selling to our customers, and how to make sure we have the right product for our customers.
