My dresser tops are usually a mess. In fact, I have had so many drawers and cabinets that my husband has had to start building a new one! But in my past, I only had one dresser. I had a dresser and a nightstand on the same side of the dresser. The nightstand came later and was a different color. It also had a drawer that was smaller than the dresser.

The next question is, of course, “What should I do with all that drawer space?” I’ve been doing a series of posts on organizing the dresser and its contents. I thought I’d share with you how to organize your dresser top, how to organize your nightstand, and how to organize your dresser drawer.
First, you want to make sure that your dresser is organized into a place where you can easily find things. Many people have a dresser drawer that is the same size as your dresser. In fact, most people have more than one dresser. The reason for this is that you can get by with one dresser alone if you put the items in the drawer that are the same size as the dresser.
Another reason that people put things in the dresser drawer is because they don’t want to be bothered and have to put the items back every time they need to use the dresser.
This is one of those “if you can’t do it yourself, you can’t do it” rules. Yes, you can organize your dresser top into a place, but if you don’t have space for a whole dresser, you can’t put everything in your dresser.
The same can be said for organizing and storing your closet, but if you do have space for it, you can put things in there. If you dont, then you can get by with two dressers, or a dresser and a closet, but you will definitely not be able to keep everything organized in your closet.
When you are organizing your dresser top, you are using organization tactics. For starters, you can put items in the order of how you want them to be displayed. For instance, if you want a dresser top that is not going to be worn too often, you could put your clothes in a random order. Or if you dont want your clothes to be displayed on the dresser, you can put them in a random order.
