Pet Rescue is a volunteer-run organization dedicated to saving, adopting, and re-homing pets all over the world. We are an animal welfare nonprofit with a mission to provide the best possible homes for the most vulnerable animals.
Pet Rescue is a great model for other charities. The goal of our work is to save as many pet lives as we can and to find new homes for all of them. We’ve adopted over 1,000 dogs and cats with nearly 5,000 new homes in the process. We don’t just save pets, we save lives too.
There are more than 40,000 dogs and cats in need of homes in the US and we need your help to find them. We are not a shelter, we do not put them down… we save them. We just need your help.
There are a lot of animal shelters in the U.S., because it’s not as easy as just adopting. There are a lot of cats and dogs that are in shelters without anyone willing to take them, so we need your help to take them. To give you a sense of the scale of this problem, just ask any pet owner how many pets they have.
We can’t just adopt, because you can’t just “adopt” a dog or cat that has been put down. So we need you to adopt a dog or cat.
Pet owners are always looking for the perfect pet for their special situation. We can’t just turn away someone who wants a dog or cat, because they aren’t going to be able to afford it. We can’t just adopt, because you can’t just adopt a dog or cat that has been put down. So we have to find people who need a new pet.
They are doing a good job of this with the dogs at the shelter here in Toronto, and it also shows that shelters are really taking initiative in this area. We have a very busy time of year, and shelters are always looking for new animals to adopt.
I think this is a great example of how shelters are taking initiative to help people get new pets. When you look at the situation of a shelter employee who is trying to find a dog or cat for someone who can’t afford it, it shows how important it is to find pets for folks who are homeless. Even if we cannot adopt a pet, we can still help a shelter employee find a replacement pet in the hopes that a situation like this will be less stressful for them.
Pet adoption is a very difficult problem to solve. We have found that shelters have a lot of responsibility on their shoulders. That’s why shelters are always looking to help people find new homes for animals and how to help a shelter employee find a replacement pet.
The problem is there are only about 8,000 rescuers in the country that match the needs of pet owners. If they don’t find a match, they may have to euthanize a pet in the hopes of finding another one. This is stressful for the staff at shelters and the staff at shelters will often contact shelters looking for more volunteers. I have seen a shelter contact a shelter looking for more volunteers and the shelter told the shelter employee that they were looking for more volunteers.
