There are no specific items that should be carried for a trip to Maldives.
The majority of what you might need is probably already in your house.
To ensure the best possible experience,
it would be a good idea to have your personal things packed and ready before departing for the amazing vacation adventure.
This list will help you get started but please remember there are many more items not on here that can greatly enhance your experience!
* 1 Pair of Shoes – You’ll want to make sure that each partner has one pair of shoes that fits well and last long during this period.
Something smooth, light weight, and comfortable would also be nice to have.* Clothes –
This includes tops, bottoms, shorts, skirts or pants. Please keep in mind that you will need clothes for evening walkabouts,
so you need to have enough pieces to meet that requirement. Clothing should be coordinated with your partner’s,
but just don’t spend too much time or money on matching outfits.* Shoes
You’ll want to have at least one pair of shoes for the beach for each partner.
The island sand can get hot so something without a back would be nice so your feet can breathe.*
Water Bottles – Water bottles are very useful in Maldives.*
Sunscreen – It is not uncommon to spend hours outside playing so sunscreen is extremely important.
Read the label before buying because there are lots of factors that affect how well a sunscreen works for your skin type.
Some chemicals can cause allergic reactions and often times the fairer you are the more likely you will react.*
Insect Repellent – This is usually not needed unless you’re going to jungle or nature parks where it’s very common for insects to bite.*
Bathing Suits – Make sure you buy a bathing suit that is appropriate for Maldives.
You’ll want to choose something comfortable so you’ll be able to enjoy yourself and play around in them.
Make sure they are appropriate for bathing in public places.*
Shirts – You’ll want several shirts so that you can mix and match with your bathing suits.
A few tank tops and t-shirts would be nice as well.
You’ll also want to buy some long sleeve shirts or sweaters because Maldives can get chilly.
A long sleeve shirt is recommended if you plan on doing any snorkeling because there’s a great chance you wont get sunburned,
but you will get cold!* Socks – Socks are easy to forget about, but very important when it comes to keeping your feet dry and free of blisters.
* Undergarments – You’ll want several bras and pairs of underwear. These will be worn often while on your trip so make sure they’re light weight,
dries quickly and comfortable. You’ll also want to have several pairs of pants. If you’re going to snorkel you’ll want to have water pants.*
Swimsuits – You’ll need at least one or two, but I would recommend having at least four or five.
You’ll want them to be lightweight and easy to take care of when they get dirty.*
Towels – A towel is useful for drying off after a day in the sun.
It is also good if you plan on renting a speedboat so you can dry off quickly before putting your wet shoes back on.*
Bathing Suits – These are similar to the bathing suits listed above,
but are probably best if they look like underwear because Maldives culture tends toward more modest clothing.
Make sure they are appropriate for public bathing.* Chaps or shorts – These would work as water pants and be useful if snorkeling.*
Change of clothes – It’s always a good idea to have a change of clothes to hand out to your kids so that they don’t become the subject of your vacation photos
Make sure it’s something clean and suitable for wear in public.* Money – You’ll want several hundred dollars*
ID and Credit Cards – If you’ll be doing any shopping this is a great way to pay for things with plenty of time to spare before you leave.
I also recommend having little toys, trinkets, stickers, etc. that you can buy from the island these will make the trip fun for both kids.
It is just difficult to get the kids to stop looking at your phone during the transactions so they can “play” with your stuff.* cleanersj.com/
Camera – You can take tons of amazing pictures on this trip, but you won’t want to be taking them if they’re blurry so make sure yours is in working order.*
Power Strip – A power strip can be used to charge small electronic devices and play music.
