For those that have been thinking about how the world works, this is a must have. The author goes into detail regarding the three levels of self-awareness. This book is an overview of the three levels of self-awareness and the four types of self-awareness. It can be used as part of an introduction to business and entrepreneurship.
I’ve purchased the book and will definitely be giving it a go.
The book is written from a business perspective, using the three levels of self-awareness to illustrate the types of self-awareness. The author includes a very thorough list of questions to ask to determine which level of self-awareness you are, and also includes a detailed explanation of how to get to the different levels of self-awareness.
I liked the book as well, and I have to say it reminded me a lot of the recent “7 Habits of Highly Effective Managers” ( (which is also the title of a new book I’m reading right now!).
You can use the three levels of self-awareness to develop self-awareness of your own habits, routines, impulses and reactions. Just to be clear, the main purpose of the book is to help you develop self-awareness of how you do the various things you do in your everyday life.
The book says it all. A person with self-awareness is able to see the big picture. A person without self-awareness is unable to see that the big picture is the same regardless of what you do, or what you have done, or who you are.
This is not a bad book, simply not as valuable as it could be. There are just too many things that could be covered. It seems to focus on one area that people with self-awareness can do, which seems to be a good thing.
A book focusing on one area does not make that any less useful. The things they talk about (managers, strategy, and business) are all topics that I have been researching. It’s a good thing they cover these things because most people who work in this field have this one weakness that could ruin their whole career.
As for the book itself, if you don’t have a self-awareness problem, there’s a ton of information in it. It really is a book about the basics of the business world. It focuses on a number of the things people need to know if they want to get ahead in business.
At the very bottom of the book is a reference to the “Great Recession” which is the term used for the Great Depression (1930-1939). The Great Recession was a period of significant economic contraction that caused widespread business failures and unemployment. The Recession would continue through the World War II recession and for the rest of the century it would cause the slow but steady decline of the American economy.
