I think most of us would agree that metal is not something we usually like to put our money into, and it would be great to have a stainless steel freezer basket.

Well, in the end, the problem is that stainless steel is a great material for a lot of things, but it is not a very good material for food storage. The best food boxes we have are made from plastic; you can’t cook in them so you need to put them in the freezer to thaw. The metal baskets you see on the shelves of supermarkets are not made from solid plastic. The plastic in them is not strong enough to keep food frozen.
