If you’re like me, your laundry room is probably a mess. So many piles! Piles of laundry, piles of folded clothes, piles of folded jackets, piles of folded shoes, piles of clean underwear! You find yourself in a state of constant need for organization. It’s a matter of choosing the right stuff, and then sticking to it.
We’ve all been there! At least I have, and you can too. Sometimes my laundry gets so big its literally a mess. Sometimes I don’t have time to take it to the dry cleaner or even wash it, and I have to throw it out. Or sometimes I just don’t have the time to fold it up or put it in the washing machine, and I have to toss it out.
This is the point at which I start to question everything that you just read. Its like asking yourself, “What should I be doing with my time?” Its like when you take one of the most fundamental activities of your life, and you’re still not sure what to do with it.
I recently wrote a book on how to organize your life so that you can spend less time cleaning your apartment. I gave a few of the techniques I used in the book, but one of the things I emphasized is how these techniques apply to your home.
By organizing your home, you are able to make your life simpler and more efficient. In addition to the things I already mentioned (like cleaning your apartment so that you don’t have to clean twice a week) you should also keep your house free of clutter. Keeping your house free of clutter helps to minimize the time you spend tidying up. This will not only be effective, it will also save you time and money on cleaning products.
Keeping your house free of clutter also means less time spent on cleaning materials. If you have a large space and a large amount of furniture and you always have to clean your stuff, then that means you waste a lot of time. You also may end up buying expensive cleaning products to clean up your mess, which leads to more mess.
One of the great things about Clean Clutter is you can actually organize your stuff in categories. This makes it easier to spot items that you will want to reuse, such as old clothes. You can also use your new clean look to organize your home’s furnishings and other items. This can give you a feeling of cohesiveness and control over your space, knowing that you know exactly where everything is.
I’m a big fan of this kind of organization, but it’s true that there are times when it makes sense to organize your home in a different way. It can help make your space more “homey,” but it might make cleaning things up easier and quicker. It’s hard to know what all your items are, so you might end up with a lot of clutter.
You might consider using a pinterest laundry, i.e. an online board that lets you organize your items by color, size, and type. It is kind of like the old fashioned laundry basket, but is more organized and makes organizing your home easier.
I have no idea what it is, but I was told by a designer that the term “pinterest laundry” refers to a person’s personal online boards. I’ve used this for awhile to sort through multiple items. It helps me and my husband both organize our house.
