Rubbermaid was the name I gave to my glass storage containers when I was a student at Columbia. They had these beautiful clear glass containers with handles that were easy to clean and stack them neatly. I have used them for everything from storing clean tea cups and tea bags to storing coffee filters. Now I have a variety of containers that I can put my own unique decorations around.
I’ve found that I don’t mind the simplicity of having a few decorative containers in a box that I can put together easily or quickly. They’re often the only piece of clutter I see in a room, and usually they’re the first thing people notice when someone opens my door. When you’re a busy person, the more things you’ve got to manage, and the more important they seem, the more time you spend trying to take them all down.
As you can see, Ive been using a lot of these containers and boxes lately. Ive been using them as decorations, Ive been using them to hold decorations. Ive been using them to hold more decorations.
I know its a bit of a no-brainer to get out a few of the more obvious ones, but they are one of my favorite things about our house. They can be used to hold pretty much anything youve got in your kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room, and they also make a pretty good centerpiece.
The rubbermaid glassware is a great way to use up things you dont need anymore, and if you have a little time, you can make some pretty nice glassware of your own. Ive made one of these out of a small bowl a few times, but I cant get enough of the beauty and depth they can produce.

Theres a store on the way to work in our building that carries a bunch of kitchen-friendly kitchen knives.
The idea of a kitchen “table” is one of those strange fads that we all seemed to be in the middle of by the early 2000s. My dad was a chef and made his own sets of cutlery for our family. The whole idea of having a giant kitchen table in the kitchen is an interesting and somewhat niche practice that I’m not a fan of.
