Some people are frightened of the effect that dreams have on their day-to-day lives and the decisions they make. But for those brave enough to enter this dreamscape, there are not only memories from forgotten pasts but also glimpses of what’s to come in the future. Did you know that when you’re in a dream, your body produces about 15% more oxygen than usual? Or that your heart rate is three times faster than it is when you’re awake? These changes may sound like just a few differences between where we are now and what’s inside our heads, but they’re actually significant changes in our physiology as we enter REM sleep. Dreams las mareas is all about exploring these realities.
It’s all too easy to dismiss dreams as meaningless, impulsive, or even dangerous. And yet, contrary to popular belief, dreams are not harmful or dangerous. What’s more, there are many positive ways in which dreams can help us improve our ability to cope with life and cope with our emotions. Dreams las mareas captures the world of dreams and shows what it’s like for a traveler stuck in one of those dreamscapes that seem to stretch on forever. With each new scene this journey reaches ever further into the unknown and through it you’ll discover something new about yourself – in a way that can only be discovered by those brave enough to enter this dreamscape.
Seven Things That Happen When You Are In Dreams Las Mareas :
1. You Are Not Alone:
Dreams are not just about wishes, hopes and fantasies. While we’re sleeping (in REM sleep) our minds are doing a lot of work – including sorting out a whole host of life problems. Facts and memories from our waking lives all swirl together in dreams to make sense of them – so dreams may be the key to solving some very real problems you’ve been having in your waking life.
2. You Are Much More Aware:
Apparently we are in our dreams less than half as much as we are when we’re awake. That’s why, in dreams, you find it easier to notice things. You will notice more details of your surroundings, and even more amazingly, you may even be able to discern movements made by other people. When we’re awake our senses aren’t working as hard so we usually miss out on all this information. While in a dream, everything that happens is amplified and magnified; so the nuances of your surroundings are much easier to perceive through touch, sight and especially sound
3. You Have A Higher Sense of Self-Control:
New brain studies by neuroscientists at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, have shown that while we are sleeping, the prefrontal cortex (the part of the brain that is associated with rational thought) is switched off. The part that takes over is the amygdala. This almond sized region buried deep in the most primitive part of our brains has two functions: 1) to identify danger and 2) to react to it by “freezing” us, or motivating our flight behaviour. In other words when we dream we can consciously control ourselves because the part of our mind that urges us not to do anything stupid is asleep.
4. You Learn More From Dreams than from Waking Life:
While we sleep, we learn more than normally because our minds are not tired when we’re sleeping. Since there is more brain activity in REM sleep the learning that occurs in dreams is brand new information, rather than simply re-reading what we already know. And because it’s new information it’s more likely to stick and influence us.
5. Your Emotions Are More For Real:
Dreams can tell you a lot about your true feelings – or lack of them. They can also reveal emotional problems that you may be having but aren’t yet conscious of (like a phobia or a deep seated sadness). If you’ve been feeling down lately and just can’t seem to snap out of it, perhaps it may be because what you’re really feeling is something much more than just depression. Perhaps the real emotion waiting to be discovered is one that comes from a dream.
6. You Can Become A Hero:
While in a dream, we don’t perceive our mental abilities to be limited in any way – so anything is possible. You could become as strong or as fast as a superhero by your own will power alone or perhaps you could even fly and fight off an army all on your own!
7. You Can’t Remember Everything:
When you wake up, your mind is flooded with experiences and information taken from the dreamscape that you can’t possibly remember them all. If a lot of your dreams are simply snippets of memory then how do you know if that one snippet is important enough to remember? Or perhaps even vital to the preservation of your very own identity? It’s an amazing phenomenon that we experience while we’re in a dream and yet, one that many people don’t even think about.
